My artist name is DJ Y alias JY. I am based in Munich. I am a french versatile DJ /Bastard pop Producer. Coming from a rich musical background, I grew up in France, and learned to play the piano for twelve years. I also was part of a Gregorian Schola, a choir specialized in Gregorian chant, singing in several cathedrals in Europe.

After moving to Germany in 1991 and starting dj-ing at students parties in Landshut, I survived the huge techno and dance wave of the 90s and got in touch with several music styles. Then, after living a year in Wuppertal, I was resident-Dj in the famous Café am Markt in Kaiserslautern. Munich called me for a new job opportunity, so I moved to Bavaria where I organised the monthly huge french music party in Munich called “French Kiss” from 1996 till 2007. I started making bastard pop tracks after meeting the french bootlegger ComaR and falling in love with his fresh bootleg music style. My bastard pop producer career brought me some attention from other bootleggers like DJ Zebra, DJ Moule, Partyben or Loo & Placido and other radio djs who played my tracks on the radio all around the world.

I also got huge attention from Moby himself who called one of my productions, a mashup between Moby – Extreme Ways and Adele – Rolling In The Deep, “better than my original track”. 2011, my mashup with Madcon and The Police was selected by Adam Sandler himself to be part of the soundtrack of the Sony Pictures movie “Just Go With It”. Early 2012 I received officially the chance to mash a track from Lana Del Rey (Universal Music Germany). The result was used as a promo gift in Germany for her single “Summertime Sadness” . 2012, I was also invited by Chimperator (Cro’s music label – Cro is one of the biggest name in the german rap scene) to be part of Cro’s first official mashup compilation, producing three mashups for this project. End of 2012 I was nominated as the « Mashup Artist Of The Year » by Matuschke, the biggest radio show on Radio Bayern 3 (Germany). My mashups were also noticed by artists like Kavinsky, -M- (Matthieu Chedid) , Suzanne Vega, George Barnett, Milow and lately by Anna F and Touch and Go.

My productions are every day on heavy rotation on IloveRadio, Germany’s biggest interactive webradio.

With my bastard pop background, I have an open mind about all styles of music. And my credo is: "read the crowd".

So, people say that I am the perfect man for uplifting sounds and crazy parties.

I am also well known as an excellent wedding-DJ.
